Be the Change Awards Celebrate DeLancia Tatum with 2025 Empowered Mother Award

The Empowered Mother Award celebrates a mom who uplifts both her family and her community through dedication, service, and love. This year, we are proud to honor DeLancia Tatum, a vibrant and driven woman whose life exemplifies strength, leadership, and compassion.

Born and raised in Dumas, Arkansas, DeLancia has always been committed to growth and purpose. After earning her Associate of Arts degree from Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, she continued her educational journey and is now in her senior year at Arkansas State University Online, pursuing a degree in Accounting. Her academic drive reflects her commitment to excellence and her passion for contributing meaningfully to her work at the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County.

DeLancia is also a devoted mother to two amazing children, Kennedy Dyer and Brandon Dyer Jr. Since relocating to Pine Bluff in 2017, she has become a central figure in her community. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Pine Bluff Western Little League, ensuring local youth have access to quality sports and mentorship opportunities. Additionally, she serves as Vice President of the Friendship Aspire Academy Parent Teacher Association, where she strengthens the connection between families and schools.

Faith plays a significant role in DeLancia’s life. As a member of Destiny Worship Center, she serves on the Praise Team under the leadership of Pastor Kourtney Smith. Her faith fuels her service, inspiring her to lead with kindness, grace, and purpose.

Whether she’s leading from the stands, the classroom, or the sanctuary, DeLancia Tatum is a shining example of what it means to empower others through love and action. We are honored to present her with the 2025 Empowered Mother Award.
